ProducePay Recognized as a Top Innovator in the 2024 FoodTech 500 List

ProducePay ranked number two among 500 companies, further highlighting the company’s commitment to innovation and sustainability in the global agricultural and food system.

Los Angeles, CA – March 17, 2025 – ProducePay, the digital platform driving growth in the $1.5 trillion global fresh produce industry, is proud to announce its inclusion in the prestigious 2024 FoodTech 500 list, curated by Forward Fooding. Ranked number two among the 500 companies listed – out of 1,400 applicants from over 70 countries – ProducePay earned recognition for its innovation at the intersection of food, technology, and sustainability. This marks the third consecutive year ProducePay has been included among the top five companies on the FoodTech 500 list.

“We are incredibly proud to be named to the FoodTech 500 list for a third straight year,” said Patrick McCullough, CEO of ProducePay. “This recognition reflects the hard work and dedication of our team, and we’re grateful to Forward Fooding for recognizing our mission to innovate, digitize, and make the fresh produce supply chain more sustainable and efficient. Being ranked so highly, alongside such remarkable peers, further motivates us to continue driving progress and sustainability within the global food system.”

The FoodTech 500 is modeled after the Fortune 500, featuring the most innovative and impactful businesses in the AgriFoodTech ecosystem. Now in its sixth edition, the list highlights startups and scale-ups pioneering solutions across the entire supply chain—from farm to fork—working to solve some of the world’s most pressing food system challenges.

Companies are evaluated through the FoodTech Data Navigator, which uses advanced algorithms to assess business size, digital footprint, and sustainability efforts. The sustainability evaluation includes a questionnaire based on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), ensuring each company’s environmental and social impact is considered.

ProducePay’s inclusion in the list underscores its leadership in leveraging tech-enabled products to drive significant change in the fresh produce industry. The company’s financing solutions, program management, and supply chain visibility have led to more than $10 billion in fresh produce transactions across 60+ commodities and helped reduce retail rejections to nearly 1%, significantly reducing food loss. These efforts align with ProducePay’s sustainability strategy, supporting seven SDG’s, with plans to further expand.

“This recognition highlights ProducePay’s commitment to transforming the fresh produce supply chain by creating solutions that empower growers, marketers, and retailers with more predictable commerce and financial stability to reduce food waste”, concluded McCullough.
